The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Austria, Maria Michail, presented her credentials to the Federal President of the Republic of Austria, Dr Alexander Van der Bellen, during an official ceremony, which took place in the Hofburg Palace, in Vienna, on 3 November 2022.
Presenting her credentials, Ambassador Michail conveyed to the Federal President the warm greetings of the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr Nicos Anastasiades and pledged to work to further strengthen the already excellent relations between Cyprus and Austria.
During a short private conversation, the Ambassador briefed the Austrian President on the current challenges that Cyprus is facing due to the revisionist policy of Turkey. Furthermore, she thanked for the constant support of Austria to the efforts for solving the Cyprus problem.
President Van der Bellen welcomed the new Ambassador in Austria wishing her every success while underlining the readiness of Austria for further strengthening the bilateral relations.
