12 Jan. 2022 - Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides heads to Brest to take part in the informal meeting of the EU Foreign Ministers (Gymnich)



Press release regarding the participation of Foreign Minister Ιoannis Kasoulides in the informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the EU (Gymnich)

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides departs tomorrow, Thursday (13/01) for Brest, in France, where he is due to take part in the informal meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the European Union (Gymnich).

The meeting will start on Thursday with a joint working lunch of the Foreign and Defence Ministers from EU Member States, during which the Strategic Compass for the security and defence of the EU will be discusssed. Foreign Ministers will also exchange views on the developing security situation in Eastern Europe, as well as EU challenges regarding the Eastern Neighborhood.

On Friday, the Foreign Ministers will discuss EU-China relations and, following the Gymnich meeting, the French Presidency of the Council of the EU will host a working lunch, during which the Foreign Ministers will touch upon EU-Africa summit, scheduled to take place in February.

The Foreign Minister returns to Cyprus on Saturday (15/01).
