Press release regarding the meeting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have tomorrow in Nicosia with Mr. Yang Jiechi, Member of the Politburo and Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, will have tomorrow, Saturday (4/12), a tete-a-tete meeting followed by extended consultations with the participation of delegations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with Mr. Yang Jiechi, Member of the Politburo and Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, who will pay a working visit to Cyprus.
In the context of the consultations, it is expected that issues pertaining to the bilateral relations and cooperation between Cyprus and China will be discussed, and ways to further enhance them will be considered. The organization of joint events in the two countries during the coming year will also be considered, in view of the completion later this month of 50 years from the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Earlier, Mr. Yang Jiechi will be received by the President of the Republic at a meeting to be held at the Presidential Palace.
