The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Montenegro presents his credentials

The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Montenegro, Mr Andreas Photiou, presented his credentials to the President of Montenegro, Mr Jakov Milatovic, at an official ceremony held on Wednesday 14 February 2024 at the Blue Palace in Cetinje.

During the meeting that followed, the excellent level of bilateral relations based on the close friendship between the two countries was confirmed, and the mutual commitment for strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation further was reaffirmed. Ambassador Photiou reiterated Cyprus' firm support for Montenegro's European path, and thanked President Milatović for the country's firm and principled position in the Cyprus Question.  In this context, he also briefed President Milatović on the latest developments.

President Milatovic wished the new Ambassador every success in his work, stressing that he will have the full support of himself personally and his government, in strengthening the relations between Cyprus and Montenegro.

During his stay in Podgorica, Ambassador Photiou held meetings with the Presedent of the Parliament Mr Andrija Mandic, the Foreign Minister Mr Filip Ivanovic, the Minister of European Affairs Ms Maida Gorčević, and Montenegro's EU Chief Negotiator Mr Predrag Zenović.
