Press release concerning the second informal trilateral meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Greece and the UAE that was held in Dubai

 

Foreign Ministers of Cyprus, Greece and the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, Mr. Nikos Dendias and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, respectively, held their second informal trilateral meeting yesterday (13/11) evening in Dubai, on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum.

During the meeting, the three Ministers reaffirmed their willingness to further strengthen cooperation in this formation, and discussed, among other things, the situation in Syria, the latest developments in Libya in light also of the discussions that took place during the recent Paris summit with the participation of all three countries, as well as EU-UAE relations and the role that Cyprus and Greece play in efforts to see them strengthened and for the EU to be more substantially involved in developments in the broader region.

They also reviewed the progress achieved in their joint efforts to further strengthen and expand regional co-operation in the wider Middle East and Gulf region, based on a positive approach, and considered the next steps in this direction, with the possible participation of other states from the region.
