15 Sep. 2021 - Migration, Enlargement, EU relations with third countries among issues on agenda in talks tomorrow between FM Christodoulides & Austrian Federal Minister Edtstadler



Press release concerning the meeting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have tomorrow with the Federal Minister for the EU and Constitution of Austria 

Tomorrow (16/9), the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, will hold a tête-à-tête meeting and consultations with the Austrian Minister for the EU and Constitution, Mrs. Karoline Edtstadler, who will be in Cyprus for a working visit.

In the course of their deliberations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two Ministers are expected to exchange views on issues pertaining to the preparation of the forthcoming EU General Affairs Council to be held later this month, focusing on the priorities set by the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU, on the continuous coordination between Member States with a view to more effectively managing the pandemic, on EU relations with third countries, including Turkey, as well as on topical issues of special interest such as Migation, Enlargement and the Conference on the Future of Europe.

Mr. Christodoulides will use the opportunity to brief the Austrian Minister on the latest developments in the Cyprus question and in the broader region of the Eastern Mediterranean.

At the end of their deliberations, Mr. Christodoulides will sign, in the presence of Mrs. Edtstadler, on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus the Alpbach Declaration for the Future of Europe, which has already been signed by Austria, Ireland, Greece, Hungary and Spain, before delivering statements to representatives of the media (at 14.30).
