Press Release regarding the meeting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have tomorrow (23/7) with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Lebanon
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, will have a meeting tomorrow, Friday, 23 July, with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Lebanon, Mrs. Zeina Akar, who will pay an official visit to Cyprus.
Mr. Christodoulides will initially have a tête-à-tête meeting with Mrs. Akar, with whom they will then hold deliberations in extended format, with the participation of official delegations, during which views will be exchanged on issues pertaining to bilateral relations and the strengthening of Cyprus-Lebanon cooperation in a number of specific areas, on developments in the Cyprus problem following the latest provocative actions of Turkey in Varosha, on the situation in Lebanon, as well as on regional issues of common interest.
Following their meeting, Mr. Christodoulides and Mrs. Akar will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Energy Sector, which establishes the general framework for the enhancement of cooperation between the competent Ministries of the two countries.
