Press release regarding the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Athens for a meeting with his Greek counterpart and participation in the Informal Ministerial Meeting of the Med7

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Nikos Christodoulides travels to Athens tomorrow morning (Friday, 11/6), where he will initially have a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Nikos Dendias, and later participate in the Informal Ministerial Meeting of the Med7, which takes place in the Greek capital.

The meeting between Mr. Christodoulides and Mr. Dendias takes place in the context of the exchange of information and continuous coordination between Nicosia and Athens, and the two Ministers are expected to discuss the latest developments in relation to the Cyprus problem and the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean, in view of important upcoming meetings and contacts.

During the Informal Med7 Ministerial Meeting, which will also be attended by the Ministers responsible for European Affairs of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Malta, as well as the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece, Mr. Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, current issues will be discussed, such as the management of the pandemic, the Recovery and Resilience Fund, migration and the redevelopment of the Schengen area, as well as developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and EU relations with the countries of the Southern Neighborhood.

At the end of the morning session of the Summit, the participating Ministers will make joint statements to the media (at 12:45).
