23 Μay 2021 - FM Christodoulides to hold series of meetings in Oman, in framework of working visit commencing today



Press Release regarding the Foreign Minister's trip to Oman for a working visit 

Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides travels to Oman, where today, Sunday, and tomorrow, Monday, he will have a series of meeting in the course of a working visit.

On Monday morning (24/5), Mr. Christodoulides will have a tête-à-tête meeting followed by extended consultations with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Badr Albusaidi, during which the bilateral relations between the two countries will be reviewed and ways for further strengthening them in a number of areas will be examined, including through the activation of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries and the promotion of a number of bilateral agreements. The latest developments in the broader Middle East and the Gulf region, the Cyprus problem, regional and international affairs of common interest, as well as EU-Oman relations will also be discussed.

At the end of their deliberations, the two Ministers will make statements at a joint press conference.

Earlier, Minister Christodoulides will visit the Royal Palace, where he will meet with the Minister of the Royal Office, General Sultan bin Mohammed al-Nu’amani.

Today, Sunday (23/5), the Minister of Foreign Affairs is expected to visit the National Maritime Safety Center of Oman, and will later hold successive meetings with the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, with the Deputy Minister of Defense, Dr. Mohammed bin Nasser Al Zaabi, and the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, Mr. Qais bin Mohammed bin Moosa Al Yousef, during which views will be exchanged on the enhancement of bilateral cooperation in relevant fields.
