Press release regarding the meeting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs will have tomorrow (6/2) with his Slovenian counterpart, Anže Logar

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, will meet tomorrow, Saturday, February 6, with his Slovenian counterpart, Mr. Anže Logar, who will pay a working visit to Cyprus.

During their deliberations, initially in a tête-à-tête meeting and later in extended consultations with the participation of official delegations, Ministers Christodoulides and Logar are expected to review the full range of bilateral relations between Cyprus and Slovenia, placing emphasis on their targeted enhancement in specific areas.

Furthermore, they will exchange views on a number issues from the European agenda, focusing inter alia on the management of the pandemic, EU-Turkey relations, the new Immigration and Asylum Pact, and the situation in the Western Balkans.

In this context, Mr. Christodoulides will have the opportunity to brief his Slovenian counterpart on the latest developments in the Cyprus problem, in the light of the ongoing initiative of the UN Secretary-General aimed at the resumption of negotiations to resolve the Cyprus problem on the basis of a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation, in particular in view of the forthcoming Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of this year.
