College of Europe 2022-23

Scholarship to study at the College of Europe

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aiming to maximize the added value from Cyprus' membership to the European Union, seeks to diversify its actions over time including establishing collaborations with academic institutions and research centers that specialize in key issues concerning the European Union. Such collaborations are guided by the principle of mutual interest and benefit of all the beneficiaries of such partnerships.

In this context, at the initiative of the General Secretariat of European Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the College of Europe concluded a Memorandum of Understanding, signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and the Rector of the College in Brussels, on 13 December 2021.

Τhe Memorandum of Understanding provides for the development of closer cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the College of Europe, whereby both sides would take the necessary measures to enable and ensure the establishment of a national selection committee and a national scholarship program for Cypriot students who apply for studies at the College.

Based on this, as of the academic year 2022-2023, one scholarship amounting to 26.000 Euro is available to Cypriots who wish to study at the College of Europe.

It is important to note that the initial deadline of 19 January 2022 for submitting applications to attend the College has been exteded to 31 January 2022. Eligible candidates who wish to apply after the expiration of the initial deadline (and not later than 31 January) need to contact info.admissions@coleurope.eu for instructions (i.e. to receive an individually generated link to the application platform).

Applications must thereafter be submitted online through the website of the College of Europe.

Notably, the College of Europe is based in the city of Bruges, Belgium, while it also has a branch in Warsaw, Poland, and offers a wide selection of postgraduate programs on European Union affairs.
