The Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Argentine Republic presents his credentials
The new Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the Argentine Republic, Mr Stelios Georgiades, presented on 6 October 2023, his credentials to the President of the Argentine Republic, Mr Alberto Fernández in an official ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Buenos Aires, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Santiago Cafiero.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Georgiades conveyed the heartfelt greetings and personal commitment of the President of the Republic, Mr Nikos Christodoulides, to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
Ambassador Georgiades also expressed the gratitude of the Cyprus government for the longstanding participation of the Argentinian regiment in UNFICYP, noting that the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Argentina, constitutes a milestone in the relations between the two countries.
Following the ceremony, the Ambassador laid a wreath to the monument of General José de San Martin, in the presence of the Secretary for International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cecilia Todesca Bocco, Ambassador Claudio Rozencwaig and the Honorary General Consul of Cyprus in Buenos Aires Mr. Nikolaos Ktistakis.
