21 December 2022 - Press release regarding the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics



The new Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics covering the years 2023 and 2024 was signed today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The memorandum involves, inter alia, cooperation in the grant of scholarships for studying at the Institute, the conduct of research programs, and the exchange of researchers from countries mainly in the Middle East.

The Memorandum was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Ioannis Kasoulides and the Executive & Medical Director of the Institute, Professor Leonidas Phylaktou.

During the signing ceremony, Mr Kasoulides emphasized the importance that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attaches to the cooperation with a Cypriot academic and research institution of recognized competence such as the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics and praised the fruitful cooperation between the Ministry and the Institute.

Mr Phylaktou, in turn, thanked Mr Kasoulides for the close cooperation and referred to the positive results of this now institutional relationship as well as the prospects for its further deepening.

Since the signing of the first Memorandum of Cooperation in 2021 until today, students from Oman, Bahrain and India have studied or are studying at the Institute on scholarships from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
