8 September 2022 - The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, will make a working visit to Paris



The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, departs today for Paris, France for a working visit.

Mr. Kasoulides will meet on Friday, September 9 with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Ms. Catherine Colonna, with whom he will exchange views on a wide range of issues with an emphasis on bilateral, regional and international issues.

Specifically, the two Ministers will carry out an evaluation of bilateral relations and cooperation between Cyprus and France and will examine practical ways of further deepening our relations in a wide range of fields such as education, trade, energy, security and defence. Mr. Kasoulides will inform Ms. Colonna on how our side perceives the next steps in the Cyprus issue, while opinions will also be exchanged on the situation in Ukraine following the Russian invasion and the complications it has caused in the food sector and energy supply. Discussions will also focus on the developments in Syria, Lebanon and Libya.

At the end of the meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Cyprus and France will sign a bilateral agreement regarding the evacuation of French nationals from crisis areas close to Cyprus. 

Furthermore, in the framework of his visit to Paris, Mr. Kasoulides will meet with the Deputy Minister for Europe, Laurence Boone.

Mr. Kasoulides returns to Cyprus on Saturday, September 10, 2022.
