Press release regarding the working visit to Cyprus of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Mr. Nikola Selaković

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, mr. Nikola Selaković, will pay a working visit to Cyprus on Monday, August 1st.

Foreign Minister Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, will welcome the Serbian Foreign Minister, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ministers Kasoulides and Selaković will have a tête-a-tête meeting and will then hold consultations with the participation of delegations from the two Ministries. Upon conclusion of the consultations, the Ministers will make statements to the representatives of the media (at 13:40). Afterwards, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his Serbian counterpart will continue their discussions over a working lunch.

Mr. Kasoulides and Selaković are expected to focus, among other issues, on the framework of bilateral cooperation and the consideration of ways to further deepen relations in a wide range of sectors, on EU-Serbia relations as well as other regional and international matters. The two ministers will exchange views on the Cyprus problem, the consequences of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the situation in the Western Balkans region as well as other issues of common interest.

During his presence in Cyprus, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Mr. Nikola Selaković, will be received by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ms. Annita Demetriou. In the context of the meeting, the President of the Parliament will award, on behalf of the President of the Republic, a decoration to the ambassador of Serbia in Nicosia, Mr. Marko Blagojević, for the role he played in strengthening Cyprus-Serbia relations.
