Press Release regarding the appointment of the S.G. of the Permanent Secretariat for the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanisms and the new Representative of the President in the Permanent Council of the International Organization of the Francophonie

During yesterday's session, the Council of Ministers decided the appointment of Mr. Alexandros N. Zenon, former Ambassador and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the position of Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat for the Trilateral Cooperation Mechanisms with countries in the region.

It also decided to appoint Mr. Minas Hadjimichael, former Ambassador and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Personal Representative of the President of the Republic to the Permanent Council of the International Organization of the Francophonie.

Both Messrs. Zenon and Hadjimichael will offer their services without remuneration and their term expires on February 28, 2023, at the end of the term of the current government, following consultation with the Legal Service.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its warm and sincere thanks to the outgoing representative of the President of the Republic to the Permanent Council of the International Organization of the Francophonie, Mr. Andreas Pirishi, who worked with dedication and professionalism to fulfill his mission.
