Press release on the Foreign Minister's visit to Luxembourg to attend the EU Foreign Affairs and General Affairs Councils

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, leaves on Sunday for Luxembourg, where he will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council that will take place on Monday, 11 April 2022.

Developments in Ukraine, the Global Gateway and other current regional and international issues are expected to be the focus of the Foreign Ministers' discussions. During an informal working lunch, the Foreign Ministers will exchange views on developments in Ukraine and the EU's coordinated response, in the presence of their counterparts from Norway and Iceland.

On Tuesday, 12 April, the Foreign Minister will take part in the work of the EU General Affairs Council. The Council’s  agenda includes, inter alia, the continuation of the dialogue on Rule of Law and, the Conference on the Future of Europe. In addition, views on the green and digital transition will be exchanged during the working lunch.

During his presence in Luxembourg, Mr. Kasoulides will hold bilateral contacts with his counterparts and will take part in an informal working breakfast hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Mr. Wopke Hoekstra, at the invitation of the Attorney-General of the International Criminal Court Mr. Karim A.A. Khan QC.

The Foreign Minister returns to Cyprus on Wednesday, April 13.
