Announcement regarding the evacuation of 42 civilians from Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus informs of the successful evacuation of 42 civilians from Ukraine.

The evacuation of these individuals from the center of Kyiv was made possible as a result of the concerted efforts of the personnel of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Ukraine and the Crisis Management Centre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

These persons have crossed into Romania and it has been arranged for them to depart to Athens on a flight from Bucharest, in cooperation with the government of Greece.

Among the persons evacuated from Ukraine are citizens of Cyprus and Greece, Ukrainians with close family ties to Cyprus, as well as EU member states citizens who requested consular assistance from the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus. These individuals include an infant, children, elderly and a pregnant woman.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work for the safe evacuation of all Cypriots in Ukraine.
