Press release regarding the conclusion of the Foreign Minister's meetings in Paris

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, concluded today his meetings in Paris.

On the morning of Tuesday, 22 February, Mr. Kasoulides took part in the Ministerial meeting organized by the French Presidency of the EU Council for the Indo-Pacific. During the meeting he had the opportunity to exchange views with his counterparts in the context of a round table discussion on climate change and biodiversity.

In the afternoon of the same day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the informal meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council held in Paris, in order to review the situation in Ukraine and to examine practical ways in which the EU could react.

Today, Wednesday, 23 February, Mr. Kasoulides held separate meetings with the Chair of the France-Cyprus Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ms. Nadia Essayan, the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the French National Assembly, Mr. Jean Louis Bourlanges, and with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the French Senate, Mr. Christian Cambon.

Mr. Kasoulides's deliberations focused, inter alia, on the bilateral relations between Cyprus and France and the prospect of their further enhancement in specific areas, the Cyprus problem and proposals put forward by the government of Cyprus in the form of Confidence Building Measures, as well as other current regional and international issues of common interest.

Mr. Kasoulides returns to Cyprus tomorrow, Thursday, 24 February.
