19 Feb. 2022 - FM Kasoulides travels to Brussels on Sunday for EU Foreign Affairs Council & from there on to Paris for Ministerial Forum on the Indo-Pacific



Press release regarding the departure of the Foreign Minister to Brussels to attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council and then to Paris for the Ministerial Forum on the Indo-Pacific

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ioannis Kasoulides, departs tomorrow, Sunday, for Brussels, where he is due to take part in the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union that will take place on Monday, 21 February 2022.

The Foreign Ministers' discussions are expected to focus inter alia on the security situation in Eastern Europe, developments in the Western Balkans, Climate Diplomacy, as well as other current regional and international affairs. An EU-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial meeting will lalso be held as part of the session of the Foreign Affairs Council.

During his stay in Brussels, Minister Kasoulides will hold contacts and bilateral meetings with the EU High Representative for Foreifn Affairs and Security Policy, Mr. Josep Borrell, as well as with the Italian Foreign Minister, Mr. Luigi Di Maio, and with his German counterpart, Ms. Annalena Baerbock.

On Monday night, the Foreign Minister will travel to Paris from Brussels, where the French Presidency of the Council of the EU will host a Ministerial Forum on Tuesday morning on international cooperation in the Indo-Pacific. Mr. Kasoulidis will participate in a roundtable discussion on international challenges regarding climate, health, biodiversity and the oceans.

During his stay in Paris, the Foreign Minister will hold meetings with officials from the Senate and the National Assembly of France.

The Foreign Minister will return to Cyprus on Thursday, 24 February.
