13 Dec. 2021 - Foreign Minister Nikos Christodoulides to receive visit of Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry tomorrow in Nicosia



Press release regarding the deliberations that the Foreign Minister will have tomorrow in Nicosia with his Egyptian counterpart

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, will have tomorrow, Tuesday (14/12), a tete-a-tete meeting followed by consultations with the participation of official delegations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nicosia with his Egyptian counterpart, Mr. Sameh Shoukry, who will pay a working visit to Cyprus, in response to a relevant invitation.

The consultations are expected to focus, inter alia, on the bilateral relations between Cyprus and Egypt and their further enhancement, the latest developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the broader Middle East region, the strengthening of regional cooperation, the latest in relation to the Cyprus problem, the situation in Libya and EU-Egypt relations.

At the end of their deliberations, the two Ministers will sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus and the Institute of Diplomatic Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt and will thereafter make statements to the Press (foreseen for 12.45).
