30 Sep. 2021 - Petros T. Nakouzis presents his Letters of Credence to President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw becoming new Cyprus Ambassador to Poland



The new Ambassador of Cyprus to Poland, Mr. Petros T. Nakouzis. presented his Credentials to the President of the country, Mr. Andrzej Duda, on Tuesday, 28 September 2021, in a special ceremony in Warsaw.

In the meeting he had with President Duda after the ceremony, Ambassador Nakouzis conveyed the cordial greetings of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, especially in view of the planned official visit of the Polish President to Cyprus in early October, and briefed the latter on the latest in relation to the Cyprus problem. He also expressed gratitude for Poland's position on the Cyprus question and for the firm support that the country provides to the efforts for finding a solution based on the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions, International Law and the principles and values ​​of the European Union.

President Duda reaffirmed his country's support for the UN Secretary-General's efforts to reach a solution on the agreed basis of the bi-zonal bi-communal federation.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on the excellent bilateral relations between Cyprus and Poland, whilst the common will on both sides was reaffirmed to further strengthen ties for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
