26 June 2021 - New Ambassador of Cyprus to Kyrgyzstan, Andreas Zenonos, presents his Credentials to President Sadyr Japarov in official ceremony in Bishkek



The new Ambassador of Cyprus to Kyrgyzstan (resident in Moscow), Mr. Andreas Zenonos, presented his Credentials on Thursday, 24 June, to the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Sadyr Japarov, conveying to the latter the cordial greetings of the President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Anastasiades, along with wishes for his personal well-being and that of the people of Kyrgyzstan.

The new Ambassador stressed the importance that Cyprus attaches to the development of bilateral relations with the Kyrgyz Republic, adding that he will work to further strengthen them.

On the occasion, he briefed President Japarov on the situation in Cyprus and the latest developments in relation to the Cyprus problem, asking for the continued support of the Kyrgyz government to the ongoing effort under the auspices of the UN Secretary-General aimed at finding a solution on the basis of a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation, in accordance with relavant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

In his response, President Japarov asked the Ambassador to convey his personal wishes and cordial greetings to President Anastasiades, stressing that Kyrgyzstan, as a Member State of the United Nations, fully supports and respects the decisions and resolutions of the Security Council. He further emphasized the need to strengthen political dialogue and economic cooperation between the two countries, both bilaterally, as well as at the European and international level.

Finally, he expressed the readiness of the government of the country to work together on the basis of initiatives aimed at deepening the bilateral relations between Cyprus and Kyrgyzstan, especially in the field of investments and the establishment of contacts between the business communities of the two countries.
