Press release regadring the first Bilateral Meeting between High Level Delegations of the Republic of Cyprus and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan that will take place tomorrow (25/6) in Larnaka
The first Bilateral Meeting between High Level Delegations of the Republic of Cyprus and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, headed by the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, and the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Ayman Al Safadi, respectively, will take place tomorrow, Friday 25 June, in Larnaka.
On the Cypriot side, the Minister of Defence, Mr. Charalambos Petrides, will also be attending the Meeting, along with high-ranking officials from other Government Services.
During the deliberations that will take place in the course of the meeting, the full spectrum of Cyprus – Jordan bilateral ties will be reviewed, and views will be exchanged on issues pertaining to security and cooperation in the wider region, as well as on issues of common interest, such as developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the Middle East Peace Process, and the situation in Syria, Libya and Iraq.
Furthermore, the European Union’s relations with Jordan and the prospects for their enhancement will be discussed, whilst the Minister of Foreign Affairs will also have the opportunity to brief on the latest developments in relation to the Cyprus problem.
At the end of the meeting, Ministers Christodoulides and Safadi will deliver statements to the Press (at 13.00).
