Israel/Palestine: Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the deterioration of the security situation
The Republic of Cyprus expresses deep concern regarding the escalation of the situation in Jerusalem and the dangerous rise of tensions in and around Gaza.
We urge all parties to refrain from actions that will further escalate the situation and lead to more violence.
The escalation of the situation, once again demonstrates how important it is for the two sides to resume peace talks and negotiations for a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, in the framework of the two-state solution, which will contribute significantly towards peace and security for the whole region.
