Press Release regarding the Foreign Minister’s deliberations with his British counterpart Mr. Dominic Raab tomorrow (4/2)

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, is due to meet tomorrow, Thursday, February 4, with his British counterpart, Mr. Dominic Raab, who will be paying a working visit to Cyprus.

During the meeting, Ministers Christodoulides and Raab are expected to exchange views on the Cyprus problem and the next steps, in light of the ongoing initiative of the UN Secretary-General aimed at the resumption of negotiations for a solution to the Cyprus problem on the basis of a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation.

Furthermore, they will review the full spectrum of biletaral relation between Cyprus and the UK, with a view to their further enhancement, focusing, inter alia, on citizens’ rights issues in the post-Brexit era, management of the COVID pandemic, air transport connectivity and the resumption of tourism travel in a safe manner.

They are also expected to discuss cooperation between the two countries in the framework of international organisations, as well as exchange views on EU-UK cooperation, with emphasis on Foreign and Security Policy.

Following their deliberations, Messrs. Christodoulides and Raab will deliver statements to the press (at 13.00).
