Groundbreaking ceremony for CYCLOPS Training Center (Monday, 4/1)

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, will participate on Monday afternoon (at 13.30), together with the Acting Secretary of the US Department of Homeland Security, Mr. Chad Wolf, in a Groundbreaking Ceremony, in Larnaca, for the premises of the regional CYCLOPS Centre (Cyprus Center for Land, Open Seas and Port Security), which is the result of a Cyprus-US bilateral cooperation programme.

During the ceremony, Minister Christodoulides and Act. Secretary Wolf will make statements to the media (at 13.45).

 

Consultations and Signing of Declaration of Intent at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Tuesday, 5/1)

On Tuesday morning, Mr. Christodoulides will receive Mr. Wolf, who will be paying a two-day working visit to Cyprus, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for a tete-a-tete meeting, followed by consultations with the participation of official delegations. During these consultations, it is expected that Cyprus-US bilateral cooperation in a number of areas will be reviewed. Furthermore, the progress made and the next steps in the processes for the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the US Visa Waiver Program, as well as issues related to cooperation, both at bilateral and regional level, to enhance security, will be among other topics to be discussed.

At the end of their consultations, Minister Christodoulidis and Acting Secretary Wolf will sign a Declaration of Intent between the governments of the two countries for Cooperation in the field of Border Security and will make statements to the press (at 10.00 am).
