Vacancy for one (1) position of Secretary/Translator, Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus to the Holy See

The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus to the Holy See with parallel accreditation to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, as well as to UN Agencies for Food and Agriculture in Rome (FAO, WFP, IFAD) accepts applications for the position of secretary/translator for full-time employment in Rome, in accordance with the conditions for locally-employed staff in Italy.

The contract will be subject to the relevant provisions of Italian tax and labour law and more specifically to the Provisions governing employment with Embassies, Consulates, Legations, Cultural Institutes, and International Organisations in Italy. The contract of employment will initially be of a definite term duration of 2 months (probationary period). At the end of the two-month probationary period, the contract may be converted to an indefinite period. The employee will be classified in Grade A2.

The gross monthly earnings for these positions amount to 2.189,60 euros.

Duties and responsibilities:

The selected person will provide secretarial support to the Embassy. Among other things, he/she will perform duties of protocol nature at the Vatican and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, correspondence in Italian, record-keeping, administrative assistant, as well as any other duties relevant to the post.

Required Qualifications:

- Graduate of secondary school.
- Excellent knowledge of Italian (mother tongue level).
- Excellent knowledge and experience of the Vatican Protocol and administrative structure of the Holy See
- Excellent computers skills
- Integrity of character, discretion and reliability; clean criminal record (to be provided prior to recruitment).


In addition to the above, it will be an advantage:

- Good knowledge of English language.
- Good knowledge of Greek language
- Experience relevant to the duties of the above-mentioned positions.
